1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the windshield frame trims (see "Removing and installing windshield frame trims") and soundproofing upholstery of the engine compartment (see "Removal and installation of soundproofing trim of the engine compartment").
3. Loosen the clamps…
4. …and disconnect the hoses from the heater radiator pipes.
Note: Some coolant will leak out when you disconnect the hoses.
Note: Place a container under the radiator hoses to collect any spilled fluid.
Note: Plug the radiator pipes and hoses immediately after disconnecting the hoses.
5. Press the latch..
6. …and disconnect the heater electric fan wiring harness connector.
7. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the additional resistor.
8. Cut the clamp that secures the wiring harness to the heater.
9. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the heater flap drive micromotor.
10. Unscrew the three nuts with a 10 mm socket wrench and unscrew the heater mounting screw with an 8 mm wrench.
11. Remove and set aside the wiring harness holder together with the harness.
12. Under the instrument panel, use a 13 mm socket wrench to unscrew the four nuts securing the brake pedal bracket and move the bracket assembly to the left.
13. Remove the heater from the vehicle.
You can remove the heater without moving the brake pedal bracket. To do this, follow these steps:.
14. Remove the three screws connecting the parts of the heater body.
15. Disconnect the heater housing…
16. …and remove the left one from the car first…
17. …and then the right side of the heater body.
18. Install the heater in the reverse order of removal.
19. If necessary, add coolant. Check the tightness of the hose connections and the operation of the heater.
