Steering rod — replacement (Vesta 2180)

The need to perform this work is determined during the inspection of the technical condition of the steering control (see "Steering - checking technical condition").

Sequence of execution

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Remove the protective cover of the steering rod (see "Steering Tie Rod Protective Boot - Replacement").

3. Holding the steering rack 1 with a 22 mm wrench, use a 32 mm wrench to unscrew the ball joint housing 2 and remove the rod.



4. Install the rod in the reverse order. Tighten the ball joint housing to a torque of 34 Nm.

Recommendation. After completing the work, check the front wheel alignment angles at a specialized service station.
