Warning! Seat belts must be replaced if they are torn, frayed, or if they have been subjected to critical stress in an accident.
Attention! When installing seat belts, use only the standard bolts with fastening parts supplied with the belts. Any other bolts may not be able to withstand the critical load.
You will need: 8 mm and 17 mm wrenches, flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers.
1. Using a screwdriver, remove the upper decorative trim.
2. Using a 17 mm spanner, unscrew the upper belt fastening bolt…
3. …and remove the upper seat belt loop.
4. Pry it up with a screwdriver…
5. …and remove the plug from the lower belt mounting bolt.
6. Using a 17 mm spanner, unscrew the lower belt fastening bolt.
7. Pass the strap behind the lower trim of the center pillar.
8. Remove the center pillar trims (see "Removal and installation of the central pillar trims").
9. Using a 17 mm spanner, unscrew the belt reel mounting bolt…
10. …and remove the belt reel from the center pillar.
Note: This is what the front seat belt looks like.
11. Using an 8 mm spanner, unscrew the two bolts securing the height adjustment mechanism for the upper seat belt attachment point…
12. …and remove the mechanism.
13. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
