Changing the oil in the rear axle gearbox (XRAY 1)

The oil in the rear axle gearbox must be changed every 45 thousand km. On a new car, the oil must be changed after 2000 km and then changed after 45 thousand km.

It is recommended to change the oil on a warmed-up gearbox. It is better to plan an oil change after a long trip.

We clean the gearbox housing around the drain hole. Place a container with a capacity of at least 1.5 liters under the drain hole.



Using a 12 mm Allen key, unscrew the drain plug...



...and drain the oil into a container provided.

We clean the plug magnet and screw the plug back into place.

Fill the transmission oil into the rear axle gearbox to the required level (see "Checking the oil level in the rear axle gearbox").
