If the ignition is off and the key is in the ignition switch, then when the driver's door is opened, the buzzer emits a continuous sound signal, warning the driver that the key is left in the ignition switch.
If the ignition is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition switch, but the exterior lighting is left on, then when the driver's door is opened, the buzzer emits two intermittent beeps, warning the driver that the exterior lighting has been left on.
