1 – Letters according to international standards indicate the code of the manufacturer.
2 – The numbers indicate the car model.
3 – A letter of the Latin alphabet (or a number) indicates the model year of the car.
4 – The numbers indicate the chassis number (for a passenger car corresponding to the chassis number).
In accordance with the Decision of the Customs Union Commission dated June 15, 2011 No. 711, the model year is defined as a conditional year specified by the manufacturer (usually following the actual year of manufacture of the vehicle).
At PJSC AVTOVAZ, the start of the model year is set for July 1 of the calendar year. Thus, from January 1 to June 30, the model year corresponds to the actual year of production of the car, and from July 1 to December 31, it corresponds to the year following the actual year of production of the car.
Identification (passport) sign
The model, vehicle number, engine model, weight data, spare parts number, design options, and configurations are indicated in the summary plate of factory data (Figure 10.2), located on the right pillar, below, in the area of the threshold.

1 – Name of the manufacturer PJSC "AVTOVAZ" (VAZ).
2 – Vehicle type approval number. It is provided in full in the vehicle registration document.
3 – Vehicle identification number VIN.
4 – Technically permissible maximum weight of the vehicle.
5 – Technically permissible maximum weight of the road train.
6 – Technically permissible maximum axle weight on the front axle.
7 – Technically permissible maximum axle weight on the rear axle.
8 – Vehicle designation.
9 – Engine designation.
10 – Spare parts number. The number for spare parts corresponds to the serial number of the vehicle leaving the assembly line. When ordering spare parts, please refer to the information contained on the identification (passport) sign.
11 – Market circulation sign.
