In a car with a manual transmission, the clutch slips (the engine speed increases, but the car does not start moving)
1. The clutch release drive is faulty. Repair the drive (see "Clutch - checking technical condition").
2. The clutch slave disk linings are badly worn or the clutch master disk central diaphragm spring is faulty. Replace the clutch assembly (see "Clutch - replacement").
A car with an automatic transmission does not start moving when the gear is engaged and the gas pedal is pressed
1. Severe wear of the clutch driven disc linings or faulty central diaphragm spring of the clutch driving disc (see "Clutch"). Replace the clutch assembly (See. "Clutch - replacement").
2. The gear shift drive or gearbox control unit is faulty (see "Automatic transmission"). To determine the fault codes of the robotic gearbox, perform diagnostics of the control system using special diagnostic equipment. Eliminate the detected malfunction.
