Removing
Set the car to a working station, brake with a parking brake, turn off the ignition, open the hood and disconnect the wire terminal "masses" from the battery.
Disconnect the cable 1, Figure 6-1, of the clutch drive from the stopper 3 of the cable sheath.

Disconnect clutch cable from clutch release fork 2.
Disconnect the clutch cable from the mounting bracket in the engine compartment.
Depress clutch pedal 1, Figure 6-2, to pull clutch cable 2 into the passenger compartment.

Remove the clutch cable from the clutch pedal socket by lifting the pedal and pulling the cable perpendicular to the pedal.
Push the cable sheath retainer into the engine compartment.
Installation
Working from the engine compartment, bring the clutch cable into the passenger compartment.
Install clutch cable 2, Figure 6-2, into clutch pedal socket 1.
Connect the cable 1, Figure 6-1, of the clutch actuator to the fork 2 of the clutch release.
Connect the clutch cable to the stopper 3 of the cable sheath.
Depress the clutch pedal and lock the clutch cable stopper on the bulkhead.
Attach the clutch cable to the bracket in the engine compartment. Check and, if necessary, adjust the travel of the clutch release fork.
Clutch cable adjustment
Using a caliper, measure the distance between the cable sheath stopper and the end of the clutch release fork:
- at the initial position of the clutch pedal;
- with the clutch pedal fully depressed.

Adjust the stroke of the clutch release fork, to do this, loosen the lock nut 1, Figure 6-3, and use the adjusting nut 2 to set the stroke of the fork 3 within 27...28 mm, Figure 6-4, then tighten the lock nut (caliper ShTs-1-125-0.1; wrenches 7 and 10).

Locknut tightening torque 8 Nm (0.8 kgf·m) (wrench 7, interchangeable insert type 01 20 00 10 f. "Stahlwille", torque wrench).
