Removal
Place the vehicle on a work post, apply the parking brake, turn off the ignition, open the hood and disconnect the ground wire terminal from the battery.
Disconnect the clutch cable 1, Figure 6-1, from the cable sheath stopper 3.

Disconnect the clutch drive cable from the clutch release fork 2.
Disconnect the clutch cable from the mounting bracket in the engine compartment.
Press the clutch pedal 1, Figure 6-2, to pull the clutch cable 2 into the passenger compartment.

Remove the clutch cable from the clutch pedal socket by lifting the pedal and pulling the cable perpendicular to the pedal.
Push the cable sheath stopper into the engine compartment.
Installation
Working from the engine compartment, guide the clutch cable into the passenger compartment.
Install the clutch cable 2, Figure 6-2, into the socket of the clutch pedal 1.

Connect the clutch cable 1, Figure 6-1, to the clutch release fork 2.
Connect the clutch drive cable to the stopper 3 of the cable housing.
Press the clutch pedal and secure the clutch cable stopper to the front shield.
Secure the clutch cable with the mounting bracket in the engine compartment. Check and, if necessary, adjust the clutch release fork travel.
Adjusting the clutch cable
Using a caliper, measure the distance between the cable sheath stop and the end of the clutch release fork:
- with the clutch pedal in its initial position;
- with the clutch pedal pressed all the way down.

Adjust the travel of the clutch release fork by loosening the lock nut 1, Figure 6-3, and using the adjustment nut 2, set the travel of the fork 3 within 27...28 mm, Figure 6-4, then tighten the lock nut (caliper SHC-1-125-0,1; spanners 7 and 10).

Tightening torque of the lock nut 8 N·m (0.8 kgf·m) (spanner 7, replaceable insert type 01 20 00 10 f. "Stahlwille", torque wrench).
