How to use air conditioner (Largus 1)

The Lada Largus car can be supplied with or without air conditioning. The heating and ventilation control unit will differ only in the presence of an air conditioner on/off button (E).

The air conditioner provides:

• decrease in cabin air temperature;
• accelerated fogging of glass.

Button E is used to turn the air conditioner on or off.

The air conditioning system does not turn on if the air blower fan mode switch (knob A) is in position 0 (the fan is off).

Note: The air conditioner will not turn on if the ambient temperature is below 0°C. This is not a malfunction, but is provided for by the design. The air conditioner can be used in any conditions, but it does not work at low outside temperatures.

The operation of the air conditioning system leads to an increase in fuel consumption, especially when driving in urban conditions.

In vehicles equipped with an air conditioning system without automatic mode, turn off the air conditioning when it is not needed.

Tips to help you reduce fuel consumption and protect the environment:

• Drive with the deflectors open and the windows up.
• If your car has been parked in very hot weather or in direct sunlight, we recommend that you ventilate the interior for a few minutes before starting the engine.

Note: If you do not use the air conditioner for a long time, it is necessary to turn it on briefly once a week with the engine running to restore the lubricant layer on the internal parts of the compressor and seals.

Let's consider the main operating modes of the ventilation system in combination with an air conditioner.



- Button 2 is not pressed (the signal lamp does not light). The air conditioner is off. The settings are the same as on a car without air conditioning.

- Button 2 is pressed (the signal lamp is on). The air conditioner is on.

- maximum cooling mode. Used in hot weather and after prolonged parking in the sun to quickly cool the air in the cabin. In this case, before turning on the air conditioner, it is recommended to open the windows briefly to remove heated air from the cabin. Set the switch handle 3 for the air supply intensity to the "4" position. Set the control handle 1 for the air flow distribution to the "4" position . Set the temperature control knob 5 to the extreme position of the blue part of the scale. Turn off the outside air supply using the recirculation mode switch handle 4. Turn on the air conditioner by pressing the switch button 2;

- normal cooling mode. Used for trips around the city and outside the city in moderately warm weather. Set the switch handle 3 for the air supply intensity to the "2" position. Set the control handle 1 for the air flow distribution to the "2" position . Set the temperature control knob 5 to the extreme position on the left side of the scale. Use the handle of the 4 recirculation mode switch to turn on the supply of outside air. Turn on the air conditioner by pressing the switch button 2;

- ventilation mode. It is used in the off-season, which is characterized by low temperatures and lack of sunlight. Set the switch handle 3 for the intensity of air supply to the passenger compartment to position 2. Set the control handle 1 for the distribution of air flows to position . Set the temperature control knob 5 to the middle position of the scale. Use the handle of the 4 recirculation mode switch to turn on the supply of outside air. Don't turn on the air conditioner;

- maximum heating mode. Used at very low ambient temperatures and to quickly warm up the air in the passenger compartment after a long period of parking. Set the switch handle 3 for the air supply intensity to the "4" position. Set the control handle 1 for the air flow distribution to the "4" position . Set the temperature control knob 5 to the extreme position of the red part of the scale. Turn off the outside air supply using the recirculation mode switch handle 4. Don't turn on the air conditioner;

- normal heating mode. Used in the cold season to maintain the optimum air temperature in the cabin after intensive heating in the maximum heating mode. Set the switch handle 3 for the air supply intensity to the "2" position. Set the control handle 1 for the air flow distribution to the "2" position Set the temperature control knob 5 to the extreme position of the red part of the scale. Use the handle of the 4 recirculation mode switch to turn on the supply of outside air. Don't turn on the air conditioner;

- windshield and front door glass blowing mode. Used to quickly eliminate fogging of glass in high humidity conditions. Set the switch handle 3 for the air supply intensity to the "3" position. Set the control handle 1 for the air flow distribution to the "3" position . Set the temperature control knob 5 to the extreme position of the red part of the scale. Use the handle of the 4 recirculation mode switch to turn on the supply of outside air. The air conditioner can be on or off depending on the ambient temperature.
