Removal
You will need a 10 mm wrench. After placing the car on a level surface and disconnecting the battery terminal, we begin work.
Disconnect the windshield washer hoses from the jets 1, Figure 6-1. Also disconnect the clamps that secure the tubes to the hood.
By pressing on the wing struts, we pull out the 1 windshield washer jets from the hood.

We remove the hood as follows. We unscrew four bolts 1 (two on each side), Figure 6-2, fastening the hinges to the hood (head 10), after which we remove the hood from the car. For this, it is advisable to have an assistant.

Remove holder 1, Figure 6-3, and hood stop 2 from bracket 3. Then remove the inner hood trim

If you need to remove the hood hinge for repair or replacement, unscrew the two bolts 1, Figure 64, with the hood hinge. The right and left hinges are similar.

Installation
All hood mechanisms and devices are installed in reverse order. The following is required:
- adjust and maintain a uniform gap between the hood and the body
- lubricate the working parts of the hinge, lock and hood lock release rod. Make sure that the working units do not jam anywhere;
- adjust the hood lock (fastening) so that it opens and closes without unnecessary effort and resistance, while ensuring reliable closing;
- adjust the hood release rod (its length) so that in the closed position the hood release handle touches the stop on the bracket;
- make sure the hood hook holds it securely.
Installing a gas strut instead of the standard hood support
The gas strut from the rear door of the Niva is well suited for installation instead of the standard hood strut on the Lada Largus. One end is fixed in the hole on the hood hinge, the other is inserted instead of the mounting bolt on the wing. It is better to choose a strut with the least compression force, since the Largus hood is flimsy.
