Removing
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift, apply the parking brake and turn off the ignition.

Open the rear loading doors and loosen a few turns the hook bolt 1, Figure 2-1, of the spare wheel basket lock (interchangeable head 17, extension and collar).
Raise the vehicle to a height that is comfortable for the job.

Remove handle 2, Figure 2-2, of the spare wheel basket from hook 1, lower basket 3 while holding the spare wheel and remove the wheel from the basket.

Remove basket 2, Figure 2-3, from mounting brackets 3 and remove basket.
Completely unscrew the bolt 2, Figure 2-4, fix the hook and remove the hook 5 (interchangeable head 17, extension and collar).
Unscrew two bolts 3 fastening the body of the lock of the spare wheel basket and remove the body 4 together with the seal 1 (replaceable nozzle Torx T40, extension, ratchet wrench).

Installation
Install gasket 1 on body 4, Figure 2-4, of the spare wheel basket lock.
Install the lock body assembly with the gasket in place and tighten two bolts 3, while the sealing gasket 1 must be securely clamped between the lock body and the body (replaceable nozzle Torx T40, extension, ratchet wrench).
Install hook 5 into lock body 4 and screw bolt 2 into hook nut (interchangeable head 17, extension and collar).
Install the spare wheel basket arms into the mounting brackets on the body.
Place the spare wheel in the basket.
Raise the basket and attach the basket handle to the hook.
Tighten the spare wheel basket hook bolt. Bolt tightening torque 14 Nm (1.4 kgf·m) (interchangeable head 17, extension and knob, torque wrench).
